Factors affecting farmers' tend to constitute water users associations

Abstract

In rural areas, where water tends to be traded less and is mostly used as an essential farm input, water users association can be as an alternative for water resource management. The purpose of this study was to investigate influence factors on the farmers’ tend to constitute water users associations. Research population was all farmers covered of Feyzabad Irrigation network supply (192 farmers). Samples of 127 farmers were selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Face validity of the questionnaire was obtained through a panel of experts and reliability was obtained through pilot testing. The Cronbach's alpha ranged from 0.73 to 0.93. Findings revealed that attitude to water users associations, subjective norm, satisfaction of exploitation company performance, history of water conflicts, social participation, awareness and information about water users association could explain 53.3 percent of changes in dependent variable.
