By studying the knowledge-based development indicators and emphasizing educational infrastructures, especially the agricultural education system, education and its role is the most important and effective tool for communities to overcome the challenges of the third millennium. Then, this study was conducted with Descriptive-Correlation method aiming to show the role of agricultural higher education in rural sustainable livelihoods. The statistical population of the study includes farmers who graduated from agricultural higher education centers. According to the statistics provided by the agricultural Jihad organizations in East and West Azarbaijan, their number is about 550 people. 225 of them were selected randomly as the sample using Krejcie and Morgan tables. In order to process and analyze data, the Spss25 software has been used. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was also used to achieve the experimental model. To do this, the Amos24 software has been used. The results showed that the components such as education, structure and context, teaching and learning methods, research and learning experiences were the basic dimensions of agricultural education in relation to sustainable rural livelihoods. They were able to explain 57% variance of sustainable livelihoods.
